The service at lunch was atrocious. Two of the three waiters that came to the table didn't speak English . The food was worse than the service. Even with a scout mob discount, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone ever!!

Went to Mirage last summer, and had a great experience there. My family decided to return, hoping to enjoy a great dinner once again. Unfortunately, we left quite disappointed, primarily with the service. Rarely do we ever judge a restaurant for its service, but this experience was something else. Perhaps they are under new management. From when we first sat down, our waitress (who seemed to be a manager at the restaurant) was forcing menu items upon us. She insisted that we try the pomegranate juice, we politely declined. When we ordered our entrees (which by default came with saffron rice), she asked which kind of rice we wanted, listing the ones that, we soon found out, came with a $4 surcharge. For dessert, when we asked for the menu, she simply listed the options, suggesting one that she repeatedly described as "amazing". When we asked for the menu again -- perhaps she didn't understand -- she simply repeated what she had already said. My father had ordered hot tea for himself. When the drinks came out, she gave us all cups though there was only one kettle of tea. We expected that the cups were for water, but when the bill came out we found that she had charged us for 4 orders of tea! When we pointed out the error, she apologized, but would not change the charges. The food itself was pretty good, especially the different kinds of rices. The bread they give at the beginning is also quite good -- it's warm, and goes really well with their humus. If we ever return, it will only be for this -- but you could save yourself the trouble and hidden charges by going to Flavor or Rumi's Kitchen.

The food never disappoints. The service is always quirky, and the place has been updated.... never. But the food is fantastic - spicy hot torshi and kahsk-obadamjuan are the best. Rack of lamb with the shirin-pollo rice mixed with orange rind, almonds, raisins, and pistachios is a one of a kind taste sensation.

I have always been apprehensive when it comes to trying new cuisine. This place is kickass; have been there 3 times already. Food and hospitality, both are awesome. Try their highly recommended appetizer; it's the best. Also, this place has a lot of vegetarian options.

Came here for lunch. Asked for a 6 top. Seated at a 4 top. Not a great start. We ended up having to move our own tables to accommodate our party. First sever took our drink orders and appetizers. Waters came out immediately. Apps took ten minutes and ended up bringing one incorrect and we had to wait for a different sever to come correct it. But that was ok. What was surprising was when yet another server came - and was unable to answer simple menu questions. And instead of offering an explanation she simply said "I don't know" and looked at me as if waiting for me to respond. These questions were simple like does the rice come in the stew or is it served on the side. And another member of my party asked what kind of salad came with the lunch special and she just started at her blankly. My general feeling was that every person who came to our table was incredibly rude. Our entrees took another half and hour to arrive and all came out at different rates. We all sat with empty waters. Yet when I went through the dining room to use the restroom the place was completely empty. Our table outside plus one other were their only clients. The bills were all wrong and the food was not redeeming. Some of my basmati rice was actually undercooked and crispy. Every one said their dishes were bland and nothing special. Not to mention the special was advertised as 7.95 but were 11.95 on the check. For two people to have an entree and split an appetizer it was $30+ Could not have imagined worse service. We arrived at 12:40 and didn't get our checks until after 2:15. I'm surprised this place has ever received a good review especially considering the amount of wonderful Persian cuisine options in the area. I won't be back. Two thumbs way down. Never again.

Food is crazy good. Service was spotty. Had it not been for the bus lady we would have had poor service. You know his mind is elsewhere when your server leaves the restaurant before his customer does. Never mind. The food was so good we ignored him. Fresh bread, delicious lamb and beef, and very tasty rice. Price is a bit more than we like to spend for dinner since we eat out so much. Also living in Duluth we get great food cheap. But, that being said, this was excellent quality for the price. If you live any where near Sandy Springs or like a long distant adventure sometimes, try this place. You will like it.

Everything was spot on! Didn't realize they brought bread & condiments til after we ordered 3 appetizers and full meals. So much food! But so delicious! Amazing coffee too!

Big thick logs of meat for my face. I love it! I couldn't put them in my mouth fast enough! Delicious koobideh, succulent moist chicken breast skewers, fluffy-as-a-persian-kitten rice, eggplant whipped into a duo of spreads (one rich, one light). Minus one star for serving pita instead of lavash (it's not a Greek restaurant; please serve the bread of your people, thanks!)

I just went here yestereday for the first time and I am hooked! The food is amazing fresh and tasty! I loved trying some of their signature dishes. Oddly healthy...if you don't eat all of your food. One dish is more than enough for 2 people. Going here with a group would be amazing so you can try many dishes.

Better than Soufie's in Buckhead. And definitely SOOO MUCH better than Rumi's. Hands-down. Best FOOD AND SERVICE. Ever. If you pay for food, u expect to have a good tasting meal. Thats a given (although sometimes that seems like a difficult thing to do in this time and age). Its the extra thing that you just dont expect that makes a restaurant where you want to come back. Our waiter was very pleasant the whole way through and he even showed me how to eat a meal in a traditional way using mortal and pestle. He could have just verbally explained it for us like i was expecting (as other restaurant waiters would do) but he actually mashed it for me and it was SOOO Delicious. I used scoutmob to get $20 discount but i am so glad i got to experience here because I am definitely coming back for some GOOOD persian food.

i'm going to say that i did not rate this place four stars simply because i chose the wrong meal. i've had better elsewhere i must admit. however, i will go back to make sure i'm right... because despite that, i liked the place. ATMOSPHERE. there are a few tables outside and quite a few inside. there isn't much to the decoration that said "persian" to me. oh well. i'm not there to eat the drapery. CUISINE. i ordered the salmon kebab. perhaps that was the critical mistake? it's not that it was bad, it's just that it wasn't -great-. prior to the meal arriving, an order of pita bread came out which was AMAZING -- and by the looks of it, made in the restaurant. we wrapped up with a turkish coffee which was done quite right. not too bitter, not too sweet, not too creamy. SERVICE. i was greeted promptly, seated quickly, and waited on with efficiency. it was decent in every way. the complaint i have was the sheer amount of time it took to get appetizers, entrees, and coffee. aside from food, you can get HOOKAHs here. the tables i mentioned earlier for outdoor seating, that's where you're going to be if you wish to end your meal the righ way. :) i didn't have the opportunity to try it, but the waitress let me know you can order one pretty much whenever they're open. that's definitely going to have me going back. IMPRESSION. i like this place. i want to like it more. for that reason, i'm going to go back and try it again. it has the right vibe, the right kind of... not too polished, not too hole-in-the-wall thing going on that i really prefer.

My family and I have been going to mirage for years. The food is consistently wonderful, rice perfectly cooked, and the kebabs are seasoned to perfection. Service is phenomenal. Hands down the best Persian food on Atlanta. Also the chef sometimes makes special desserts, if you see the saffron creme brûlée, GET IT! Just to die for....

This place was the site for my grandmother's 100th birthday party luncheon. Mirage provided a four-course buffet lunch (of various Persian delicacies) for about 35 people (family and close friends). The first course consisted of several platters of three distinct varieties. The first variety was composed of of 3 different veggie spreads; the second variety were garnish platters (composed of fresh herbs, walnuts, greek style olives, stuffed grape leaves, and feta style cheese); and the third variety consisted of large wheels of warm Persian flat bread. The veggie spreads consisted of one hummus type spread and two different eggplant spreads. One of the eggplant spreads was seasoned with some kind of fried (or sauteed or candied) onion. I loved the first course but there were problems with keeping the warm flat bread platters coming out of the kitchen fast enough; everyone kept gobbling them up or scarfing them down faster than the waiters could bring them out of the kitchen. This problem led to a lot of complaining from several of the party guests. One gripe that I had was that the stuffed grape leaves were more along the lines of the sweetened variety rather than the spicy / hearty / garlicky variety (and therefore not to my liking). The second course was a salad course composed of several platters of salad. Each salad dish was very close to (if not outright identical to) the typical Greek salad at various area restaurants. It was certainly good but perhaps not great. The third course was a rice course. It was composed of several platters of three different types / varieties of long grain rice: white rice seasoned with golden raisens and aromatic spices; yellow rice seasoned with lentils and hearty spices; and yellow rice seasoned with pistachio nuts and aromatic spices. The fourth and final course was a grilled meat course. This course was composed of several platters of grilled meats: chicken, lamb, and aromatically seasoned ground beef "patties." The meats appeared to be grilled on skewers with onions, peppers and tomatoes and served on large, oval-shaped dishes (minus the skewers; I never saw the skewers but saw skewer marks on the meats). All in all a great food feast and perfect for a group ranging in age from picky little kids on up to grouchy old codgers. Service was great and the staff was very accommodating. I highly recommend throwing a large dinner party here with the same food course lineup.

I really like this restaurant. I ate dinner there on Christmas and the food is amazing. I can only describe it as a festival in your mouth. It's a very clean, respectable place. I ordered the something polo, the rice used during festivals and I chose a vegetable kabob. DELICIOUS! The requisite bread/cheese/nuts/herbs plate beforehand is so yummy, I think I like this place better than Sufi's.

I have been to Mirage several times now and wanted to base my rating on several experiences. Each time we have been there, the food has been just as fantastic as the service. I have tried the Falafels, Dolmeh, Mirza Qasemi, and Hummus for appetizers as well as the Salmon and Lamb Kabobs all of which were very good. I would definitely recommend giving the place a try if you're interested in some Persian Cuisine.

Went for lunch this afternoon and loved the small quaint restaurant atmosphere. I ordered the eggplant appetizer that came along with some fresh made pita bread that was so good it was the first time I had eggplant. Also, had the lamb kabob meal with saffron rice. I will definitely go back here great Mediterranean food and place just to chill with a glass of wine.

Dined on a Sat night with party of 7. Food - yummy! Not sure how else to describe as I'm not familiar with the various spices. Veggies, beef, chicken, different rice dishes. Everyone loved it. Service was very slow. Our server was nice but we waited 40 mins for entrees. Small family style atmosphere. Quiet enough for larger party to talk and enjoy. Bring your own with small corkage.

I ate there with a friend and our food was delicious. We had a wonderful salmon kabob entree that was perfectly cooked and too big to finish. It was cooked with vegetables and served over rice. For starters we had a vegetarian stew over rice with a salad. Good thing we shared everything as I am still stuffed. I love Persian food and this is the best I have eaten.

We had dinner outside on their patio, and it was fabulous. The food, service, and general atmosphere were all great (Atlanta in October is really quite lovely for outdoor dining). We tried a few of the "highly recommended" dishes, which I would also endorse. Yum. The Persian bread is delicious (it comes with the appetizers, I assume), and everything we ate was amazingly flavorful. The entrees were big, and we had kind of pigged out on the appetizers (dips and spreads and stuffed grape leaves, oh my!), so I had plenty of leftovers. The service was very friendly and helpful. Overall, highly recommended!

Me and my Persian family have been eating her for years on end. The owner goes above and beyond to ensure we are taken care of. The menu has a great selection of beef, chicken, lamb, and veggie dishes. It may seem a little pricey but think again! You get a BIG plate of food with lots of meats and rice. The waiters are very friendly, they are Persian so we typically can have some great conversations in Farsi. They always check on the table every so often, and they know when to ask if we need something else. The "Gift of Gab" for great waiters is knowing when to come assist the table and these guys are PERFECT. After eating, if the owner is free, she walks my grandmother (in her 80's) to the car and always thanks us. I can't think of any place in Atlanta that would be so family-oriented to do such a task. I now bring my friends, my girlfriend (who is American but loves to hear me banter in Farsi), and all my friends. Even if you are not Persian, the staff takes great care of explaining what all the menu items are and what the best dishes are. 5/5 Stars for this place is a 100/100 in my opinion. I am a customer for a lifetime.

I decided to have Sunday dinner with Mirage, The Customer Service was Great, the menu has diversity with Great Meal choices, the food was very well prepared; four stars simply because one Waiter or Waitress has a little difficulty serving so many diners.

My husband and I had heard great things about Mirage and had been wanting to try it for a while. We were not impressed. The service was okay, but definitely not friendly. We would have been okay with that, but the food didn't have much flavor and was very disappointing. We will not go here again.

great Middle Eastern food in the Dirty South? what gives?! right in the middle of...you guessed it...another strip mall, lays this jewel of Persian cuisine. since it's abnormally cold down here during the week I'm in town - 40 degrees during the day - I started with a bowl of tomato fennel soup. it was a bit thick - almost like a cream of vegetable soup - but hearty and definitely hit the spot. fresh baked pita bread was brought out to the table and I used a fair amount of it it to clean up the soup dish. there was also a place with walnuts, cheeses, radishes, and some other vegetables. for main course, I went for a dish called "abgoosht". it was described as braised lamb over tomatoes, potatoes, and a mix of beans, with a slightly spicy reduction sauce on the side. I was not prepared for the awesomeness. first off, the waitress brings me a wooden mortar and pestle. apparently, you put the veggies and meat into the mortar and begin mashing away with the pestle, then spread the resulting paste onto the pita. this was so damn incredible! the flavors mixed so well, and I learned to add more of the spicy reduction in to make the mashing easier. a little spicy, a little citrusy (there was lime in the sauce), the starchiness of the veggies, and the gamey flavor of lamb all combined into something that looked a little weird visually but tasted amazing. people of Atlanta, you owe it to yourselves to check this place out! the prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get, and the service is excellent. ambiance: the place was fairly empty at 7:30 PM. a few tables but the place was mostly empty. you can also reserve a seat on OpenTable. somewhat hilariously, the music they were playing started off with "traditional Persian music"...then slowly became more and more techno/club music. at one point, there was a Persian cover/remix/whatever of "DOTA" by Basshunter, which is hilarious because that's a techno song about a video game chat system. LOL, club kids will listen to anything! bahahaha!

Good simple Persian food. Never been to Iran, and this is my third time in a Persian restaurant. Good for the money. I'll go back if I'm in the area again. Service isn't for stars, but it ain't a luxury restaurant either so... Good Persian in my belly and no pushy service. Happy clients here.

This place is quaint, unpretentious, and authentic. It is in the Publix shopping center on the left side (the same side as regions bank). I went for lunch at a friend's suggestion because she had a coupon. I honestly never would have known it was there otherwise. Nevertheless, this humble establishment has me very interested to try more. Their menu items had a few common dishes like hummus, eggplant, and french fries (random). But the rest was foreign, exciting, very authentic persian food. They have a whole vegetarian section as well. The food was interesting and I had to ask what a couple of things were out of curiosity. I am eager to go back and try more of the dishes. I got a traditional vegetable dish with rice and my friend got a veggie wrap. Both were not what we were expecting but very good. If you are a little adventurous with food and like BIG portions. I highly recommend Mirage.

We went to this restaurant this past weekend for a Birthday party. The Ambiance was good in the restaurant and they greet you as you enter. the service is good as well. The prices are great for a Persian restaurant. The food is good every time. Consistency matters!!! Hummus & pita bread was ok. Shish kabobs were very good...tender, Juicy and flavorful. I would recommend this restaurant.

Went for dinner. Ordered: - pita bread and hommus - fresh pita that you tear with your own hands - "jewel of Persia" rice with chicken - very flavorful and good - chicken and pomegranate stew with white rice - lamb kabobs with white rice (no skewer) - stuffed grape leaves Lively atmosphere. Seems to be a lot of regulars. Good service.

Horrible customer service and thieves. We were invited guest and we had to beg literally for bread. Owners wife was as rude as a person could be. First time there and will not go back. There are millions of other Persian restaurants out there like Rumi's kitchen where it's civilized and professional. We had rented the private room and paid for in advance. The wife charged more the next day stating "you deal with my husband and he not a good businessman" basically be careful. Persian schemers.

We stopped in for a quick lunch after a nice hike, and immediately ordered kashk-o-badmejian (sp?) to start. Our first reaction? Oh my! It was creamy and delicious excellence, served with fresh baked pita bread. Our entrees (lamb & pistachio meatballs, lamb stew) were ridiculously wonderful; true treats for our taste buds. The decor was upscale, and the service good. Great experience!

My family and I eat at Mirage at least once a month, if not more often. The portions are generous, the staff friendly and attentive and the food is excellent. I usually get a chicken kabob but I have also had beef kabobs and salmon kabobs - all very good. My wife has ordered the lamb and my daughter, who is a vegetarian, usually orders the Tahdig. I saw where another reviewer did not like the Tahdig - that person must have been on a bad night as we usually order Tahdig (lentil stew over crunchy rice). If you are looking for something different and have never tried Persian food, give Mirage a try.

  • Zeke A.

Yum!! I've been to Mirage twice for dinner and love it! All you should venture and try something that's not a kabob! The Pomegranate chicken dish is absolutely amazing! I think it's called Fesenjun (spelling?). The hot pita type of bread with butter is also really, really good. If you like eggplant try their spicy eggplant dip! Enjoy and stop being so boring by trying wraps and kabobs!

Went with hubby. Ordered #11 appetizer. He doesn't even like eggplant and he wolfed it down. Cleaned the bowl with last bit of bread. Sweet tea was lovely. There's a hint of spice there I can't put my finger on. I had guava juice. Very very good. We stuck to basic. Chicken kabob and mirage chicken. It came out moist, tender and hot. There's different rice dishes with it. He ordered something that had fruit in it which he really loved. I had mine with lima beans. I'm usually not a fan of lima beans but this was delightful. Ended meal with baklava. Quite full. Had leftovers. Didn't last the night, perfect midnight snack. Would come back here.

This place never disappoints! Great food, great service. I always get their special chicken kobob but their lamb kobob is so tasty, too. If you haven't had their wedding rice, you should treat yourself with that. It is out of this world! Their Turkish coffee is a perfect finish. I get the craving for their Turkish coffee just about every week! Sometimes I go there just have a cup of coffee and Persian baklava. Oh, and don't forget their home made saffron ice cream with pistachio...a hint of rose water syrup with a bird nest-like crunchy noodles at the bottom....sooo heavenly! What an elegant dessert! My sister who lives in Boston wants to visit me in Atlanta because she wants to eat here!

I moved here 1 year ago from Los Angeles and I'm Armenian. It took me a while to find good Persian food compared to the places in LA. This place is AMAZING. Always get the soltani and it never fails. The barg is cooked just right. Koobideh is perfect.. And the rice is amazing. The kashkebadumjoon is great! (eggplant dip). Definitely try that if you plan on going. Of course it's pricey but you get what you pay for. I wish they would give some sliced onions and more feta cheese.. That's the only thing I would change. Oh and their bread is amazing.

HIYA! out of the shadows of the frozen tundra I come out for a warm review, it is nice in the ATL today, finally! Ninjette and I were out and about after a contract on fell through; happens once in a while, a client gets cold feet and withdraws the contract but it comes at a price, like when you make a reservation at a restaurant and get charged a fee for not showing up. If this guys changes his mind again the price will go up 50% hahaha, it's good to be ninja. Anyway, I suggested to have Persian food for dinner and ninjette suggested this place. There are other Persian restaurants in this area but I'm glad we stopped here. We ordered some Hummus served with freshly baked pita bread, it took a little longer to get the pita cause they were baking it right at that moment but it was worth it. I Also ordered the soup of the day which was a tomato based and very tasty as well. Our main courses... Ninjette ordered the Salmon Kabob with Shireen Polo rice which is very sweet. I ordered the Mirage special chicken kabob with Loubia Polo rice. I was a bit skeptical due to the green beans in the rice but man it was delicious, the green beans add a bit of tangyness to the rice that I found very satisfying, sort of like using a kunai instead of a katana to help someone meet their God. We will definitely be coming back for more in the future, now out to enjoy the nice weather... out! *poof*

I love eating at Mirage! The food is wonderful and authentic here, and the portions are very generous! The khashk bademjoon appetizer is delicious braised eggplant, and both the kabob barg (filet mignon) and the chicken barg are cooked very well. The stews are also delicious if you are in the mood for something more authentic, the ghormeh sabzi is not to be missed! The staff is very friendly here and the owner's are very attentive as well.

I like this place best for their wrap sandwich. The weekday lunch special for this is hard to beat. The bread is fantastic and the koubideh is prefectly cooked and seasoned. That being said, I've tried their dinner and weekend fare a couple times and have not been very impressed with the service, quantity, or price. Not bad, but not particularly compelling. I'm gonna drive down Roswell Road if I want Persian at dinner or the weekend.

I went here for lunch during the week. The restaurant was not crowded, so I thought great, in and out - awesome, since I had only an hour to get back to work. I got the chicken kabob plate - the chicken kabob was amazing! but the rice was alright, they have different flavored rices but the rice that comes with the Chicken kabob was not too impressive, it did not have the authentic feel to it. Apparently during dinner service, they give you house made bread and butter...but during lunch they don;t, we requested for some and our waiter did bring out some but it did not seem the freshesh. I was not too impressed with the place, I think there is other better Persian joints around town...

For me, this is the best Persian place I have ever been too (granted I have only been to four over the years!). I go there regularly, to the point that the staff pretty much knows what I am going to order! I usually get chicken barg or chicken kabob with white basmati rice, though occasionally I get the lamb or beef. The flavors are fantastic and the flatbread that comes before your meal is unbelievable (especially if you are fortunate enough to get it right out of the oven when it is still hot and soft!). The staff is first rate and very friendly. As someone else mentioned, the owner definitely makes an effort to speak to you and remembers you on subsequent visits. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta and I highly recommend it. Someone mentioned feeling underdressed. I have worn a variety of clothing there and have never felt underdressed so don't let that concern you.

This place is so consistently fabulous. So far I've tried a variety of kebabs -- ground chicken and beef mixtures as well as moist chunks of marinated chicken breast -- and everything has been delicious. The bread they bring with the meal is amazingly good and piping hot from the oven. Want the best rice you've ever had? Try the shireen pollo. I brought my parents, who tend to be rather picky eaters, here, and my dad said it was the best chicken he ever had. Portions are huge, so be prepared to take some home. It's not cheap, so that helps justify the cost. They'll also give you one of those hot breads from the oven to go if you ask.

went here today for a late lunch with a friend. i've been here many years ago and it was a first for my gf so i wasn't sure if she was going to be impress with persian food. luckily she was! we had the dolmeh (grape leaves wrapped in rice, raisins, onions etc..) served with a tangy yogurt sauce. it's like a burst of puckering tartness in your mouth, so delish! she had the chicken wrap and i had the vegetables grilled wrap and both were very good. i freakin' love the wrap itself, so warm, chewy and tender all in one. after all these years, they still haven't changed and that's what makes it worth going back. totally adore it!

What better way to enjoy a relaxed luncheon date with my wife than to enter the quiet refinement of this elegant, yet moderately priced oasis in Sandy Springs. From the moment we entered we, the sounds of lovely understated classical guitar fused with the beautiful traditional Persian art to create an atmosphere that made us feel as though we had entered a different and subtly sophisticated world. The traditional beef stew "abgoosht" was served by our attentive waitress, Rana, who brought stone mortar and pestle to turn small portions into a paste to be eaten with the freshly baked pita bread. My wife's wedding basmati was as delicately balanced as the unusual blend of herbs and spices in my perfectly done, melt-in-your mouth stew. Ultimately there was nothing more we could have asked of the experience (other than that the waitress, otherwise attentive, come back to fill our water glasses). The food at all the other tables looked equally appetizing. We'll be back!

Wow!!! Persian food is my favorite and Mirage is the absolute best in town! My husband and I come to town often to visit family and have tried many of the Persian restaurants and Mirage is our favorite by far. The ambiance is comfortable and quaint, the waitstaff are very friendly, and outdoor seating is fantastic- especially if you like hookah. The appetizers are all great but my favorite is the kash-e-bademjan eggplant dip with the homemade hot flat bread- I promise you won't be disappointed! My husband is a vegetarian and there are plenty of great options. I have not found a kabob I didn't like and I love to add the different specialty rices instead of the standard white rice. If you can manage after the generous servings, try the saffron creme brûlée with a Turkish coffee- yum!!

Whatever you do, do NOT get Khoresh-e-Gheymeh (yellow split peas simmered in a mixture of sauted onions, tomato sauce & sun-dried Persian limes, seasoned with special spices, and topped with golden fried potatoes). It's a stew offered with either sirloin beef, or as a vegetarian dish. Funnily enough, both my husband and I decided to get it, except I got vegetarian, and he got it with beef. It was a catastrophe. His apparently had no flavor. Mine on the other hand tasted .... like rancid dirt, if there is such a thing. All I know is I was starving when we got there, but the taste so repulsed me I barely choked down 1/8th of it. It's a shame because we loved our appetizer. We got Kashk-O-Bademjan (Braised eggplants mixed with garlic, herbs & spices, topped with sauted dried mint, sauted onions and cream of whey), and Mirza Ghasemi (Roasted eggplant mixed with sauted onions, garlic, fresh tomatoes & eggs, seasoned with special herbs & spices). Funnily enough, we each liked one but didn't like the other, so it worked out. And their homemade bread was very good, but I wouldn't necessarily call it pita. The reason why this place gets three stars is because while the stew was quite possibly the most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth, I'm going to hope that it was just a fluke, and hope that if/when we come back, we don't make that same mistake. Also, our waitress was very nice and attentive. Although I have to say, I don't know if it's because we went on a Friday night or what, but we felt kind of underdressed. Everyone was dressed up, and we were just in t-shirts and jeans.

Comming from michigan (which has the largest middle eastern population in the us perhaps I'm a little biased when it comes to the food-La shish in dearborn is to die for!)... it was good.. i got the chicken kabob which came with mounds of white basmati rice .. and i also got the eggplant appitizer which was very good but didnt come with the pita.. which i was hoping to get... and i got some kind of flat bread not sure what it was but it was pretty darn good!! all in all i probably wont go back it was good if you are reeeallyyy craving some persian food.. i found it average...

Dined here last night with my wife on the recommendation of a friend. Nice weather and lovely patio surrounded by flowers and plants so we sat outside. Our server, Reza, made great suggestions for appetizer and entree. I tried the eggplant & whey dip that was a treat for the taste buds. My wife ordered falafels served on a bed of tahini sauce. Very fresh and obviously made from scratch. For the main course my wife had the beef shish kebab and it was very tender, juicy, and well marinated. I tried a lamb shank stew called Abgoosht! OMG!!! It was out of this world good. The shank cooked to perfection with tomatoes, beans and potatoes in a rich broth. I could not stop eating it and wanted more when I had finished licking the bowl. I consider myself a lamb connoisseur and have had it in all sorts of Indian, Malaysian, French, and other ethnic cuisine places and I have never had it this good. Service was spot on and have us ample time to enjoy the food and our surroundings. 3 hours later we left happy thinking of when to come back!!!

My family and I met at this restaurant. A group of nine. Our waitress was very helpful with us ordering and accomodating family style dining. The food was solid. We all shared food and had a blast. Meats were tender and juicy. All around a great experience.

Good Persian/ Middle Eastern eats here... I'm a big fan of the Koubideh which is ground beef with herbs on a kabob. Their saffron rice is really delicious and they also have a special rice dish with dried cherries ( I think). Interesting and tasty. I agree with Rilindo...the pita rocks. The eggplant dip is really good too and not greasy like some I have had elsewhere. They have a party room off to one side...this could most likely be reserved by you!

Sometimes a good meal is part of a well planned evening, and sometimes you just luck into it. The wife and I tried this place for a meal before going to a party in Sandy Springs Saturday night. Neither one of us is very familiar with places to eat in that part of town (that we hadn't already tried), so we randomly picked Mirage due to its proximity to a liquor store (the next stop before the party). It's pretty standard decoration in one of those omnipresent Sandy Springs strip malls, but the food really shines through past the simple setting. I had a korescht (a stew, essentially) with chicken and pomegranate served with a huge plate of basmati rice with saffron. It was tangy and sweet, but not so sweet that it tasted like something other than a stew. The rice was perfect. And the pita bread? I could sit and eat it for hours...home made and fresh, it instantly beat out every other Middle Eastern restaurant's bread that I've had. My only complaint about Mirage was the service at the end of the meal. Our waitress had done a great job of keeping a close eye on us while we ate, but there was at least a twenty minute gap between when we finished our meal and when we saw her emerge from the kitchen and got her attention. We weren't in a huge hurry, but sitting there with empty plates and glasses for the better part of half an hour got a little old. Even with the lapse in service at the end of the meal, I plan on going back and trying Mirage again.

I have been to most Persian restaurants in US, and Mirage is by far the best! We went to Atlanta for vacation last week and we were pleasantly surprised with this place. Their kabobs are extraordinary, they are tender, cooked right, and Mirage does not use meat tenderizers (I asked the chef) like most other kabob places which makes the food salty. The key to a good kabob is good meat and they certainly use the best. We had 12 people in our party, and we shared dishes so I got to sample different dishes and they were all excellent, in particular their eggplant starter dish, fava beans rice with dill and lamb shanks, chicken kabob, koobideh kabob, lamb and Barg (filet mignon)kabob. I will go there next time I am in Atlanta and I wish I had their food every day. The service was excellent and they are a family owned business.

This place is a very family oriented restaurant with great, authentic Persian cuisine. They have many options on their menu to please everyone, even vegetarians. The best appetizer by far is the Khashk-e-Bademjan, which is a braised eggplant spread that you put on top of their freshly made pita bread. Another good option would be the appetizer sampler because you get a little bit of everything. The meals include a healthy portion of rice and a kabob skewer. You can also get rice and a stew. The different combinations of things you could get are endless! The Mirage Kabob is a really juicy chicken kabob and I definitely recommend it. Also, as far as stews go, the artichoke stew and the eggplant stew are delicious. For the rice options, the Persian wedding rice includes nuts, berries and orange peels and has a sweetness to it that is delicious. There is also a lentil rice that comes with raisins and sauteed onions-- so good! My family has been going here ever since it opened about 11 years ago. We love everything about this place!

Another one of our fav restaurants and a frequent spot to take guests. (So frequent, in fact, we had our rehearsal dinner here.) I'm half-Iranian and lived in Iran for three years (before the Revolution). I've tried most of the Persian restaurants in town and this one has the best food. Great service, too. If you're new to Persian food, try the Kabob Barg (filet mignon kabob) or Koobideh (ground beef with minced onion kabob). Both are served with steamed Basmati rice -- and Persian rice is like no other -- steamed for over an hour, aromatic, slightly nutty and delicious. If you're a little adventurous, try the Gheymeh stew (kind of a beef stew with lentils and a bit of lime in a tomato sauce), also served with rice. Start with the Badamjaan appetizer (eggplant dip with garlic and whey). Super yummy. I skip dessert cuz they're all too sweet, but if that's not a problem for you, you might try the ice cream with rose water or Bakhlava. I have yet to take an American friend here who didn't love it.

Awesomely good middle-eastern food (their kebab was excellent). AND they *make* their own pita bread. In fact, the pita bread alone is incredible - you can eat it all day by itself and you will not get tired of it (closest thing to manna there is). Go, do not walk, RUN, no, wait, FLEE to this place. :D

Not a bad place to eat, I just thought their kabob was a little dry. Otherwise, the flavors were ok, not exceptional. The hospitality was warm though. This is NOT one of the best Persian restaurants in Atlanta, that glimmer of flavor in the distance, yes, it's a Mirage indeed. Not a bad place to go, but for the money not nearly the best value. Sorry Mirage.

This place is awesome. We have been going there for at least 7-8 years. We ate there again tonight. We both had the cornish hen. It is expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection...not dry. It comes with rice safron. Light and tastes wonderful. The bread they serve is warm and flat. The best part of the bread is around the edges. The service is very efficient. Some of the wait staff do not speak English well. That's OK as it gives a certain punch knowing that Persians are there serving the food of their homeland. Finally, if you are tea drinker, try theirs. It is their own blend and is very flavorable

A neighborhood standby that continues to earn its keep. Recommended dishes: Ash-e-Reshteh, a Persian noodle soup thick with fragrant herbs; Ash-e-Anar, a pomegranate soup available seasonally with a sweet, smoky taste; Kash-O-Bademjan & Mirza Qasemi, a combination of two excellent eggplant dips. The first of these is the more unusual (it's made with whey), if you have to choose; both earn high marks for getting insane mileage out of caramelized onions. Among the rice dishes (and there are many to choose from), Shireen Polo (sweet, full of dried fruit and nuts) and Baqala Polo (savory, with lima beans and fresh dill) are favorites. Bread is hot, fresh, abundant. I'm rarely excited by kabobs, but they are serviceable accompaniments. The service is friendly and professional, and the addition of specials to the menu is helping to keep things interesting for old regulars like me...I've been eating the dishes above for ten years or so, though, and I still crave them regularly!

We've been to Mirage several times, particularly for the rice in the "Jewel of all Persian Rice Dishes" item! Last night, I had a vegetarian selection, Baghala Polo, which was very good. The other dishes we ordered were also 4 stars. The pita bread is great--don't fill up on it or you won't be able to eat your main course! The one time I had a bad experience at Mirage was because I ordered a vegetarian eggplant dish and apparently the Persian eggplant is a variety that is very bitter (though the eggplant on my kabob last night was fine).

Lamb rack: of all the lamb rack in the city, this rack is the fairest of them all. It's tender, juicy, flavorful, aromatic, fresh from the grill. All that you could ask for. Nice, cheesy rice to balance with lamb. If you want to lose weight don't pick this dish. You will lick until it's empty. Lamb + eggplant stew: citric, well seasoned, and so tendered. You can't smell that lamb smell that can ruin most lamb dishes. It's a nice hearty meal, I enjoyed it down to the last bite. Oh and the Hummus is good. We prefer the lambs here to that of Rumi's down the street.

Fantastic persian cuisine. We went here for dinner with the whole family. Having kids I was a bit afraid they would not find somethign to eat but they both love the kabobs and the basmati rice. I had the Sultani, I think and it was fantastic. Great ambience, very welcoming family restaurant and I like trying different cuisines so this is a great departure from the usual. Highly recommended.

If you want Persian food, then skip it and go to Rumi's Kitchen just south of this restaurant. I have been a long time patron of Mirage, and unfortunately they've just continually went downhill. Their customer service is not good, and when they burn their kabobs, they won't even admit to it. Aside from that, the biggest problem with Mirage is that their prices are so similar to Rumi's with substantially lower quality food. The koobideh is 1/3 the weight, and falls apart. (They mix in bread or other fillers into the beef). If the sultani was 40% cheaper at Mirage than Rumi's, it would make more sense, but it's not.

Mirage Persian Cuisine had a Scoutmob coupon available and we wanted to try something different from the typical American or Asian meals we were used to eating. Mirage Persian Cuisine popped up on our radar so we decided to give them a shot. Parking is plentiful in the large shared parking lot. So park away! The restaurant interior reminded me of a dark and exotic but still a family oriented restaurant. As the Yelp description promised, it was quiet and intimate inside. We were seated immediately after approaching the hostess in a small corner. Even more intimate than we expected. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that meant we would be occasionally overlooked... We asked our server what was good and what was popular, and his response was to point to everything on the menu, with no preference to any one dish. So that was not helpful at all... We ended up counting on Yelp reviews and pictures to help us decide. We ended up ordering the Spicy Pistachio Meatballs with pomegranate glaze as an appetizer, and the lamb shish kabob and Barg (beef kabob) to share among the three of us. The server didn't seem happy to be working that night so he seemed a little miffed at our order, for whatever reason, as he left to put our order in. Another server brought us our complimentary starter, a hodgepodge of delights with a large pre-cut pita. There were three cubes of butter, a small cut of feta cheese, a few nuts, sliced radish, and a whole bunch of mint leaves and some unidentifiable grass. We had no idea how to eat this, as no one was around for us to ask, so we made up our own method of eating. It was definitely an interesting concept. Our server brought out all our food at once... The meatballs, which we had assumed would be our appetizer came out after the Barg and the Lamb Shish Kabob. Lamb Meatballs - not a fan. It was pretty dry so we had to drench them in the sauce. Unfortunately, I was also not a huge fan of the sauce. The sickly sweet tartness of the pomegranate with the nuttiness of the pistachio didn't seem to do the lamb justice. Barg - the beef kabobs were pretty tasty. My friend kept commenting that the meat needed a little green sauce on it. Chimichurri definitely would have set that meat apart. Too bad that's the wrong cuisine... Lamb Shish Kabob - the lamb was beautifully cooked. Flavors were on point!Came with the lentil and basmati rice, which was pretty bland but had an interesting and different consistency. I'm not sure I'll be back, unfortunately. Every time I give Persian food a try, I get let down. My palate just can't handle the unique flavors! But it was definitely a different meal, while service could use a tune-up.

The food was good, but not great! When I come to middle eastern restaurants I look forward to halal meat, however this place did not have that... And after a day of fasting you wanna eat some meat! So most of us were eating seafood while the others were having lamb. Service was good and so was the food

RUDE servers and will NEVER return. I used Scoutmob but did not honor discount of $20 max for dinner instead we received $10 the lunch discount but we were there for dinner. They pretty much made a bogus rule out of thin air and said I didn't get $20 off because I didn't spend $40 or more. I then said that its not in the fine print or written anywhere for us to see on Scoutmob. The waitress had no real explanation and pretty much said "because it's our rule" well Scoutmob doesn't work that way. On top of that our waitress was horrible! She never came by to fill our drinks or check on us. We had to ask another waitress for a to-go box. Although the waitress was horrible she didn't forget to add her tip to our bill. The purpose of Scoutmob for business owners is advertising their business and hoping the customer will return to their restaurant and continue to be returning customers! They obviously don't understand that concept. FOOD- I find it very bland for my palette or maybe its just not that good. We both had the lamb stew one was tomato based and one wasn't. Whatever it is, DO NOT EAT HERE! We were there on a SATURDAY night and the place was EMPTY for a reason!

There's a plethora of Persian restaurants up and down a decent stretch of Roswell Rd but I wasn't impressed with Mirage after all the rave reviews. Maybe this restaurant was great at one time. We started with Tahdig which was ok to me. I'm not a fan of hardened, chewy rice which I know some people love (especially in Korean food when rice hardens against a clay pot). I did like the vegetarian lentil curry that was on it though. This might have been the only thing I liked or the Baqali rice with my entree. I had the lamb shank with Baqali Polo. The meat fell off the bone and I liked the fava bean and dill flavored rice. My problem with the lamb shank and stew was that it lacked flavor and salt. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Generous portion of rice was large enough for me to bring home. Complimentary bread with radishes/mint was just ok. Frankly, I think I've been spoiled by Rumi's Kitchen up the road. Granted Rumi's is more expensive, but at least the portions are bigger and the food is more seasoned. Mirage made me sad because I anticipated something delicious but it was underwhelming. Service is great, but the food was ok.

Wow. Take a look at my french fries which were listed on the menu as "crisped potatoes." Bland food i could have made at home easily. My husband had the kabob and didn't finish it. We left half our food on the table. Now the bread and the tea? FABULOUS! We had way too high of expectations of this place. The servers were so incredibly nice as well. I live down the street but will never return here. We are working up our nerve to try Persian food again.

Now I'm no Persian-food connoisseur. Restaurant-wise, I've only had food from Sufi's and Rumi's Kitchen to compare. I found the others to be so much more flavorful. Although this food did have some seasoning, it didn't "wow" my palate. The curry eggplant barely had a hint of curry flavor or aroma. I was given the lamb kabob (even though I ordered the lamb rack) which was tender and a bit pink inside. The rice was soft and the pita bread was fluffy so I did enjoy those. Food warranted a 3 star at most. So why the harsh 1 star? Being told obviously false information... twice. I read about the lamb and saw the rack pictures on yelp. I am pretty sure I ordered the lamb rack but they told me I ordered the lamb kabob. Ok, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. What brings the star rating down is the customer service. Granted, food came very quickly. The big issue was when the bills came. There were 4 of us. We asked for separate checks based on what we ordered. Our waitress was so confused as to how to split the check that she called for the manager. We thought we sorted it out by telling her exactly what to put on each person's bill. We waited... and waited.. It felt like 20 minutes. I finally went in to ask for a take out box. Our checks were sitting at the counter. I flagged down the waitress who let me look at the tickets. I looked at my ticket and found an error in that an extra item I did not order was added. The manager insisted that I ordered more than I actually did! She however believed me and voided it out and gave me the correct and updated bill. The waitress brought out the other bills. There were errors with my friends' bills too, particularly being charged $5 for substituting lettuce for bread. We called for the manager again who admitted there was miscommunication in that WE didn't understand that extra would be charged since we got lettuce instead of bread. I can go on and on but it wasn't worth clarifying with them or describing in detail now. It took longer to resolve the bill than for the food to come out and for us to finish it. When the manager came back AGAIN with my swiped card and bill, it was clearly a mistake. The manager said that I gave her my card when I went in to get my box. I know for a fact that I didn't because I did not bring my purse in when I asked for a take out box! Being told misinformation angers me. To be fair, if you do go, I would suggest bringing cash and definitely checking your bill. What should have been $10 + taxes for me ended up being $31 and 1 wasted hour.

We scouted and found this place offering 50% off. Restaurant location is convenient and sitting is nice. But the dish we ordered wasn't good. We both ordered the shrimp kobab , which was over cooked and burned. Shrimp is old too and not very fresh. Flavor is not impressive. The idea of mixing berries into the rice is very cool and added some sour twist to the rice. I might do the same thing to my own cooking. Maybe we didn't order this right one that everyone recommended - chicken or lamb kabob. The complimentary pita bread is good.

This is THE BEST Persian restaurant in Atlanta--hands down. FOOD Every dish that my family & I ordered was fresh and literally bursting with complex flavor. We started with a curried eggplant appetizer, which we ate on top of the best pita I've ever tasted (it was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and tasted fantastic.) I got the Shirin mixed rice plate with beef kabob. The kabob was tasty (not really anything special, but still moist and soul-satisfying) and the rice was insanely good. If you've never had Persian rice, you are missing out: saffron, candied orange peel, pistachios, slivered almonds---it's fragrant, sweet and delicious. My Mom had the Fesenjoon, a chicken stew spiced with ground walnuts, pomegranate juice and saffron. It was a little sweet and a little tangy---amazing. My dad had the Qormeh Sabzi, a savory stew with lime, leeks, corriander and fenugreek; it had a pungent taste that I can't imagine everyone would like, but we were really into it. The meat in both stews was so tender that it literally fell apart. ATMOSPHERE The dining room is casual and comfortable, with soft lighting and warm, inviting earth tones. You definitely don't need to be dressed up to eat at Mirage, but you feel like you're eating in someone's elegant dining room. SERVICE Our waiter was extremely attentive and accommodating. When my Mom's food arrived, it came with steamed rice. But when she saw that I got the "mixed" rice, she thought she might prefer it. So she asked the waiter to exchange her plain steamed rice for the mixed version, and he kindly exchanged it for no extra charge. The owner checked on us a few times as well. What lovely people and a lovely restaurant.

I live like literary couple minutes from this restaurant yet I have never try it. So today, I decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in, I like the atmosphere. You can either sit out in the patio or inside. We chose inside. I didn't like it that the tables are covered with white paper as table cloths. I don't like the feeling of the paper. I ordered the chicken with balsamic rice. It was ok. Bit blend for my taste but the rice was really good. Most of their appetizers are vegetarians. Lot of egg plant dishes. I am not a hummus eater but their hummus was delicious. Must try with the complimentary bread that they give out. Food I give a 3 star but service I give a 5 stars. I think it's a family owned business. They were helpful, attentive and nice. Overall, I give a 4 stars.

The best Persian food in Sandy Springs. The chicken and beef entrees are perfectly marinated and prepared. The falafel is the best in Atlanta. Our server was prompt, friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. This is our new favorite place to eat!

I was not impressed with this place at all. The scoutmob drew us in but won't return. We ordered falafel, which was fine, and an eggplant dip as apps. Dip was rather lackluster. Then my husband had a rice dish with beef kabob and I had a vegetarian stew. Our friend who met us ordered grape leaves as she wasn't too hungry. The food overall was bland, lacking any real heat and spice. Friend said the grape leaves were sweet as they were covered in a pomegranate sauce. The food alone would be three stars but took one off for service. Our waiter was dour and unenthusiastic. He didn't even bother to ask if we'd like more wine/beer. Would've liked another round but oh well...Also, we all had questions on the menu as it was our first time at a Persian restaurant, and he had no patience for it at all. Gave short answers and almost rolled eyes at our order. As a heads up, if using scoutmob, they won't split the bill. Maybe this is not uncommon, but most other places I've gone to will.

It was a delight to spend Christmas Eve at this restaurant as I hosted my parents during their yearly visit to see me in Tennessee. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was good. We had the salad Shirazi, bread and assorted green herbs for appetizers. We had mint yogurt drinks with the meal and tea afterwards. For the main course, we had the kabab koobideh x2 and the stewed lamb shank (baghal polo mahiche) x1. The portions were perfect and the meats were cooked to perfection. Please note that traditional Persian food has generous portions that is often too much for one sitting, so I was pleased with the reasonable, yet filling, portions. The tea was excellent, too. We would love to come back anytime. I would recommend this restaurant for good Persian food. As an aside, I am someone that grew up eating this food so it's a little more difficult to satisfy me since it's not my mom's cooking. :)

Consistently great food. Love this restaurant. I love the lamb kabob. The meat is delicately seasoned and tender. My husband's favorite is the braised lamb shanks. Try pairing the lamb kabob with a vegetable kabob instead of rice. It is delicious and a little better for the waistline.

I came here first time past weekend for friend's birthday. It has nice atmosphere and patio outside for outdoor seatings. I ordered Joujeh Kabob which is hen with basmati rice. It was pretty good and big portion. My friend got the koubideh and other friend got the soltani dish. Theirs are even better. If I return in future, I would get their dishes. The prices are better than 1001 Persian Nights (Duluth/Johns Creek area). Here the koubideh dish is $13. In 1001 Persian, it's $18 (but I heard it went up). I would return in future for Persian food.

Two thumbs up to Bademjoon (eggplant stew with lamb shank)!!! A must try if you like lamb. Tried Mirage Special Chicken Kabob - it was good but didn't knock my socks off. Also Rumi's has better Kashk-o-bademjan!! This place is not as pricey as Rumi's though.. :/

I love Persian Cuisine, and based on one visit, I'd say Mirage is a distant last when it comes to Persian restaurants in this area. If I had the experience I had today multiple times, this would be a 1 star review. First off the service was shaky at best. I was flying solo for lunch, and after being seated I had plenty of time to read the specials menu, the regular menu, decide what I want, and read a few news articles on my phone before a server ever came by (the restaurant was maybe a third full). Similarly slow throughout, and not particularly friendly. I started with the Beggars Soup, and found myself adding more salt than I've added to anything in a restaurant in a really long time. After a lot of salt, it was OK. My entree was the Soltani Kabob Platter - basically one skewer of Koubideh and one of Barg, along with rice. The rice was the best thing on the plate. Probably the most bland Koubideh and Barg I've ever had. I love Persian cuisine because of the big flavors...that didn't exist in my meal here. Even the flat bread was subpar - it tasted like they'd just run down to the Publix in the same strip mall and bought some, as opposed to the homemade deliciousness at most persion restaurants. If you're a fan of Mirage, you owe it to yourself to try the other nearby Persian places - I've been to Flavor, Persopolis, and Rumi's many times, and every meal I've had at all of them has been significantly better than my meal at Mirage.

This place is an unorganized mess. Owner is a trickster, servers are amateurs, food is crap. Someone needs to open a real Persian restaurant because the choices off Roswell Rd are all, at best, very average. Rumi's was better in its previous location. Persepolis average, Fanoos, no comment. But Mirage, wow, how incredibly sad that they get away by calling this mud on my plate food? BTW I'm Iranian and I know my cuisine. Imma stick to MY KITCHEN.

I was looking forward to trying Persian cuisine for the first time but was sorely disappointed. Not by the food, but by a couple of things that went down during our time at the restaurant. First, there was the wait. A wait for menus, a wait for water, a wait to take our orders... we were contemplating leaving when a server serendipitously appeared at our table to take our orders. I got the Shirin Polo with ground beef kebab and BF got the Joujeh Kebab made with Cornish hen. Surprisingly, the food came out in decent time. BF received an entire Cornish hen, chopped up in pieces and skewered. I noticed that he received the same kind of rice as I did (he was supposed to just get plain saffron basmati rice, according to the menu) but I figured the chef probably gave him some of the same rice I got since he had to make a batch for me anyway. I didn't think much of it. I thoroughly enjoyed my dish as well. The ground beef was so juicy and full of flavor. The rice had a slight sweetness to it that went well with the meat. I also sampled some of the Cornish hen and thought it was very tender, juicy and well-cooked. The second thing happened when we received the bill. BF noticed a $4 surcharge on his dish and questioned the server about it. The server replied that he had substituted his rice for Shirin Polo. It is true that he was given Shirin Polo with his entree, but BF was not the one who requested that substitution. We both told the server this a few times since he did not seem to understand. Server: "Uh.... uh... uh... but it was delicious, no?" BF: "Yeah I mean I thought the food was good but I don't understand why I am being charged extra. I'm not going to fight about it though, so you can just go ahead and charge it." Server: *mumbles* "Thank you." Not sure what happened there -- if the server misunderstood, or if the chef just decided to make the substitution him or herself, but it was not right to charge us for something we didn't request. BF didn't fight it because he did enjoy his food, but it was the principle of it. I was pretty annoyed by that fact. To add insult to injury, he forgot to bring us the boxes we requested. We had to ask again. Maybe he was just flustered by our exchange, I have no idea. To their credit, the manager did come by and apologize for the wait time so I appreciated that. So to summarize, if you receive an upgrade in your rice that you did not request, expect to be charged for it.

My friends and I come to Mirage all the time because it really is the best Persian food in Atlanta. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Make sure to get some Turkish coffee after your meal :]

One of my favorite place to try Persian food. The atmosphere was very friendly, and the servers were awesome. The last time I went to Mirage was for christmas, that one of my friend had a family party in the private room. We decided to order the variety of kabab and stews. With out any doubt the Bademjoon stew with lamb shank is my favorite recently. For the dessert we ordered Napolian and turkish coffee( definitely try both if you go there). This place is simply amazing and I will go again and again.

In all fairness, this place will always have a special place in our hearts for a couple of very important personal reasons: BUT critics we are and critics we must. The food, is absolutely delicious. Their kabobs are without a doubt lovely. However, may I kindly offer silly little things to possibly help? Service: Service was impeccable. However, during our meal, there was this absolutely loving and gentle Asian lady with long curly hair with blonde highlights that eagerly stood here and there cleaning off plates and replacing table papers and the whatnots. Without any dash of evil, I honestly, with all my heart, thinks that she is a wonderful person; However, she did stand in the middle of the dining area, LITERALLY staring at people bite per bite and whisking away their plates one bite short of a relaxing meal. We honest honest honestly could not focus on our own personal time during this meal because we were more concerned about her. She was so dedicated, yet intrusive with the diners. Just a suggestion: if we must be swift with our services, please, kindly stand in a secluded area in the dining section where people will not be conscious of another kind soul just patiently watching us every bite we take. She is absolutely lovely, and very dedicated, and unknowingly awkward for the diners. However, the servers were very mindful and gave the diners the perfect amount of time needed from ordering, refills, etc - but was unbalanced with a single lovely soul intrusively watching over every table Ambiance: This place is no cheap frill. For a marvelous Persian meal, I feel like they serve every right to charge high, but at the end of the day, your wallet is limping just a tad bit ... it is positively okay to charge an average of 15 bucks a plate, but it must be met with a shy bit of standard when it comes to the decor ... the last time I was here was about 4 years ago ... and although the menu and the most loving owners stayed the same, the decor has not and the prices has gone up. With the most utmost respect for one of the most authentic places I have ever been, for the prices they charge, one can simply go to Cheesecake Factory and get more back for their buck. The Place Itself: Nowhere else would you find a restaurant where they give a generous shaker of SAFFRON on every table. The owners are authentic Persian with the most warm and loving attitudes. When you get even just a little close to them, they have so much dedication and passion for their restaurant, it is like as if an extension of their kitchen. The Kabobs are just glorious fit to be served to an ancient Persian King. The food was as authentic and fresh as I can ever imagine - although, as aforementioned, comes with a price. Small, ignorant suggestion would be to offer some kind of authentic dipping sauce to come with the Entree. Although the meat itself is astounding, the rice is delicious but as a meal, "may" need some sauce, maybe traditional yogurt based perhaps, to help with the meal since as a whole, the Entree can be a bit dry. All in all, it was marvelous. It was alarming to see that on a Friday evening - peak hours- this place was more than half empty. I suggest to have signs on the side of the road and a more enticing sign right outside the Restaurant itself. Make some noise and slightly lower the prices, allow for efficient service without being intrusive, and add a dab of sauce with the Entrees. All in all, a wonderful meal to be had. Authentic. Lovely. Delicious.

I've never had Persian food before coming to Mirage, so I'm certainly no expert, but Ioved what I had here. I ordered a stew with lamb, eggplant, and potatoes and really enjoyed it. The service was prompt and friendly, I would imagine their other dishes are just as good. A little on the pricey side, but the portions they give you are also pretty large. I recommend sitting outside, as the inside of the restaurant was really dark when I was there. Highly recommended.

lovely tahdig, shirin polo, baghali polo and vegetarian qeymeh bademjun! I took off one star because if it's on your menu you shouldn't have "stopped making the vegatrian loubia polo a few months ago"

Not as good as Rumi's but a decent value for lunches. The worst thing is the owner guy who sits in a corner looking grumpy. He looks like some mafia guy forced to manage a restaurant as he is stuck in a witness protection program. He looks that miserable. ' The flat bread is not as good as Rumis or Persepolis. It's a very simple type pita like bread , but has its own charm when warm. The soup that comes with lunch is a nice bonus and one of the reasons why I come to this restaurant sometimes. The lamb kabob is ok, but bland. The soltani kabob(koobideh and the filet) is nice and buttery. The chicken barg is OK, but again, a little bland. The chicken with orange zest peel , raisins, nuts mixed in the rice(forget the dish name) is pretty good. I have had inconsistent experience with service urgency. Sometimes very attentive, sometimes, you just wait. Though to be fair, the service has been more often good than bad. If only that manager can be friendlier with customers.

This is one of my favorite Persian restaurants in the US. Whenever we visit Atlanta we always do a to-go from here. A must try at this restaurant are: Kash-O-Bademjan (Whey & eggplant) - DELICIOUS is an understatement Shirin Polo Steamed Basmati rice with slivered almonds and pistachios, sauteed barberris, gold and black raisins and sauteed orange zest prepared in our special saffron and rosewater sauce - My all time favorite dish. This rice dish is absolutely amazing. Mirage Special Chicken Kabob w/Shireen Polo - The chicken is really tender and delicious and the shirin polo comes with it. - Perfect dish! The bread is freshly baked and delicious and goes very well with the Kash-O-Bademjan. Highly recommend this place if you like Persian food.

Mirage is the newest restaurant that has been added to my revolving lunch places list while at work. The prices are reasonable, the food is fairly healthy, and very good. Every lunch starts off with a complimentary piece of fresh warm pita the size of a plate and a dish containing a bit of feta, mint leaves, walnuts, and radishes. I tend to break the bread off in small pieces and wrap them around a bit of feta and mint. MMMHHHH I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The only app I have ever had here is the kashk-o-bademjan, which is a roasted blended eggplant dip topped with sauteed onions, dried mint, and cream of whey. While a bit oily, it is really good; addicting even. Kabob lunches come with a cup of lentil soup. The soup is tomato based. Both chicken kabobs are good. Not dry and not overly moist (yeah, I hate that word too). I tend to add a vegetable kabob to the plate so I can get some kind of veggie in. I think it's $5 or so to add a veg kabob which is steep, but I have to do something to up my veg game. You can turn most kabobs into wraps and save a $1. My favorite thing to get at Mirage is the fesenjoon, which is braised chicken in a super thick sauce of ground walnuts and pomegranate juice. It's not a very photogenic dish. It comes with basmati rice with a bit of saffron rice on top. They pair nicely together. The fesenjoon is $10.00 and I can typically only finish half after gorging on bread so it equals out to $5 a meal when I get the leftovers to go. Yes! FYI the fesenjoon is sweet so be prepared. *They have free wifi

Came here on a Monday. Was pleasantly surprised at "wine night" where you buy once glass and receive the bottle for free... although the prices of the bottles are at a 100% markup (verified from the company of the wine maker). The waitress was new, so no points off on that I understand. I actually ordered the Spicy Lamb Meatballs and the Beggar's Soup. The lamb meatballs were amazing - would definitely order again. The Beggar's Soup, however, was bland. I added salt and the sauce from the meatballs, but I still couldn't adjust it to my taste. I still ate it, however. I'm adventurous. My friend's food was great. 3 stars, happy medium.

Went here again recently, been numerous times before over the past few years. As I have always loved visiting Mirage & had great food & service in the past, this time was NOT the same positive experience. Not sure if they were having an off night or what, but the service & wait time for food was extremely slowww! Also, none of the staff (except for 1 male server) spoke much English and there were always numerous servers or management at our table helping to "translate" & take the order. Hmm. We also had to ask several times for several things before actually receiving them at our table. Another frustrating aspect to the ordering experience was that I attempted to order a salad and add a meat kabob to the salad (which the menu implied was possible for any salad). When the Mgr came to take order, she stated that only 2 of all the listed salads were "allowed" to have lamb kabob added to it. What gives?! After this bad & slow experience, I am not sure I will return to Mirage. Instead, I want to give Rumi's another try, as Rumi's (in their new location) blows Mirage away with their food quality & overall atmosphere (at least in my experience). Way too bad b/c I always had a fond liking for Mirage (until now). Hopefully Mirage will read this & pick up the pace, service & overall friendliness toward its customers!
